Hello, so many people talk about travelling to Hawaii. I would have never went there if the military hadn't stationed me there but now that I have been there I don't see it as so far out of reach. I lived on the island of Oahu in a small city called Mililani. I guess a couple of things I could say about the island for those who might be curious are...
Traffic isn't the greatest so if you vacation you might want to try and avoid rush hour and evening hours on the H-1 freeway around 5pm. Also, I didn't really like the hawaiian delacacy "poi" so just beware if you decide to try it raw! If you decide to go hiking be sure to bring lots of water and definately a good camera because the views are breathtaking. Also, if you ever go to Maui you must go to "Haleakala" or "the house of the rising sun." This is no doubt the most beautiful sunrise you could ever see. This is a volcano on the island about 10,000 feet above see level. You must see it!
